Furniture Insights: Our Design Process

As we continue to showcase our recent work on our new furniture collections, this week, our FF&E team share an insight into their design process for each bespoke piece:

"When it comes to our approach to furniture, we focus on harmony - the whole room should read as one, and our pieces reflect this. Our design process always starts with the concept, and we consider the proportions of the space throughout the project to create an ideal fit. To tie our spaces together, we develop our furniture designs in careful consideration of how they will sit alongside other architectural, interior elements and original features, from lighting and floor treatments to colours and fabrics.

We sketch each of the pieces in isolation to ensure the concept is as desired and then in situ so that the bespoke item fits perfectly in place. These drawings then allow us to experiment with different texture, colour and style options.

These sketches are an example from a project that is now almost complete, where our idea was to curate the space so that every architectural and interior detail lines up exactly. The furniture pieces sit precisely within this alignment, while adding comfort and durability to create a timeless home that is tailored to the family's needs."
