This house presented us with unique challenges, to unlock the potential of the lower ground floor and bring light into the living spaces with a new glazed extension.
The lower ground floor of the Victorian semi-detached property comprised of a series of unrelated spaces with different floor levels, and little connection to the rear garden. A new steel structure allowed us to connect these spaces. Lowering them to the same level as the rear garden meant that a new spacious family kitchen was created with a connection to the outside.
Extending the rear of the building out to the garden with a new double height glazed facade brought light into otherwise dark living areas and created additional floor space for dining and study areas.
