The refurbishment and extension of this house in the Hampstead Garden Suburb included the addition of a large basement beneath the entire footprint and rear terrace. The Client required a series of formal and informal spaces, both large and cosy, for spending quality family time together as well as hosting gatherings.
The original building's elegant and symmetrical two storey front facade is retained. A new side wing houses a spacious family dining room that opens out onto the rear garden.
A full drop bespoke chandelier made of glass hangs in the entrance hall, wrapped by a beautiful staircase detailed with an art deco inspired bronze and ironwork balustrade. A first floor family room includes a bespoke mezzanine level offering a quiet space for the children to do homework whilst still feeling connected to the rest of the house. The basement swimming pool is overlooked by a bar, lounge area and chilled wine room.
